Before I became a therapist I spent years working with families navigating some of the hardest things a parent can face — children with special needs, early developmental challenges, systems that weren't built for them. I learned early that the most important work happens in relationships, not just in treatment plans.
Montessori brought me deeper into that philosophy — meet people where they are, trust the process, build from what's already there.
In between I was also a stay-at-home mom and homeschooled my kids. So when a woman sits across from me and talks about losing herself in the work of raising a family, I don't just understand it clinically. I've lived it.
I came to graduate school later, with some miles on me — kids in middle school and all. There was never going to be a perfect time, so I stopped waiting for one.
How I work.
I'm trained in Relational Life Therapy — an approach developed by Terry Real that's particularly effective for individuals and couples who are stuck in relational patterns and ready to change them. It's direct, practical, and it works.
I'm also trained in Gestalt therapy through the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies under Duey Freeman, and in ecotherapy through the Colorado Ecotherapy Institute under Kimberly Rose. These approaches inform how I work with the whole person — not just what's happening in someone's head, but what's happening in their body, their relationships, and their connection to the natural world.
I practice in Evergreen, Colorado — which means I have a mountain trail basically at my doorstep — and some clients do their best thinking outside four walls. I'm one of them.
I see clients in person in Evergreen and Denver, and online throughout Colorado.

Hi, I’m Jodie.
Licensed therapist, mother of three teenagers, and someone who believes therapy should actually get you somewhere.
Therapy doesn't have to be heavy all the time.
My clients would tell you I'm warm but I don't let you off the hook. That's the balance I'm going for — a place where you feel safe enough to be honest, and where something actually happens because of it.
I'm direct. I'll tell you what I'm noticing. I won't let you spin in circles for months when there's real work to be done.
My goal is never to keep you in therapy longer than you need to be. It's to help you get where you're going and send you on your way.
I didn't come to this work in a straight line.
